Bears, Beers, and Burgers Oh My (Sun. 10/4)
| Oct ’09 |

| 10:00 AM |
The Chicago Bears will return to Soldier field this Sunday to face a Detroit Lion team who is on their longest winning streak in nearly a season and a half, one game.
But in the last few years, the Bears have pretty much been the only team that Detroit has had a chance against. So don’t expect the Bears to take the struggling Lions lightly.
After a shaky start on both offense and defense, the Bears have come away with two straight wins. The receivers have shown that they are capable of catching passes from Cutler, and the defense has proven itself to be effective, but not perfect.
Kickoff is at high noon on Sunday, but the festivities begin two hours before that. Show up for the Bears Ultimate Tailgate on the southeast lawn just outside the stadium.
It isn’t football without the Bears, and it isn’t Sunday without a tailgate. Get autographs from Bear alumni, eat free food and sign up for contests. Admission is free, so if you don’t have a ticket to the game you can still celebrate a rising Bears team.
Blackhawks Begin Race For the Playoffs
So maybe it’s a little premature. But with the inevitable disappointing baseball season for both the north and south siders, the shaky start of Cutler and demise of Urlacher, the playoff hopes for the windy city rest in it’s most under appreciated team, the Blackhawks.
And for Chicago’s home opener you’ll have to book a flight over to Finland as the Hawks play their first ever regular season game in Europe.
Patrick Kane, Jonathan Toews and the rest of the Blackhawks will be back in Chicago on October 10th to face off against the Avalanche.
Jump on the band wagon now and watch the Hawks return the Stanley Cup to Chicago.

If you’ve got Bears tickets and want to get your drink on, consider hopping on a beer bus at one of Lincoln Park’s Bar 1 watering holes! That’s right. McGee’s, Duffy’s and Redmond’s offer round trip transportation to all home games for $5 which is a fraction of the price of your alternatives. As long as you’re still standing an hour before game time when the bus departs (and this deadline is firm) hop on board the booze cruise and keep the tailgate going! Drink and food specials will bookend the event, so let’s go, Bears fans – GET ON THE BUS!
