Today is the Super Bowl, but don’t forget about the only Chicago team to make it to a Bowl game this year.  Our own, undefeated, Chicago Bliss! While most of America is focused on The Who at half time, flip your TV over to Pay-Per-View, or tune in to the webcast at http://www.lflus.com/ and watch as the Chicago Bliss take on the Los Angeles Temptation in the final game of the season.

I had the chance to make it to a game this past December and it was a blast!  Some photos below for your viewing pleasure.

2nd Annual Snow Days Chicago Festival (Fri. 1/29 and Sat. 1/30)

Snow Days Chicago is offering a plethora of reasons why it’s better to brave the windy city weather this time of year versus those boring warmer climates.

The events during Snow Days Chicago on Friday and Saturday the 29th and 30th include a national snow sculpting competition, an activities igloo (don’t tell me you’ve never wanted to go in an igloo), dogsled racing demonstration, “snowboard rail jam”, and plenty more.

Grant Park will be filled with over 27 unique snow sculptures this weekend, and … (best part)… it’s FREE. So if you’ll be downtown at all during the festival, you have no reason not to swing by the Michigan Ave. local to catch some winter wonder.

The fest kicks off Fri. January 29th at 4 pm and ends 8 pm. Snow Days will be open Sat. Januray 30th from 11 am to 8pm. And, again, absolutely no cost (no, not even for an igloo tour).

This event is so awesome.  I’m hoping one of the WindyCityEvents.com readers will get to compete and tell us about it!  Check it out:

ESPN Zone (43 E. Ohio St.) began taking entries today for its eighth annual Ultimate Couch Potato competition, scheduled for Jan. 1, 2010. In a nut shell, four sports fanatics from the Chicagoland will square off in a competitive sitting competition on New Year’s Day to see who can watch the most continuous hours of televised sports (bathroom breaks only once every eight hours and no sleeping allowed). Entries close on Dec. 9.  Visit http://www.espnzone.com/ultimatecouchpotato/ for more info and details on how to submit your entry.  One of you better get this and tell us about it!

UPDATE: The four contenders have been chosen and you can watch introductory videos of each person at http://espnzone.com/ultimatecouchpotato/. I think my money is on Jerzy.  Who’s your pick?
