Some people run for charity. We prefer crawling. Don your tackiest holiday knitwear and head out to Mad River, on Saturday, December 4th, 12pm for the 2010 Ugly Sweater Pub Crawl. A donation of $20 to Imerman Angels, a one-on-one cancer support network, gets you a wristband good for insane drink deals of $2-$3 at each secret location. Put Aunt Ida’s handy work on display for a good cause. It may even win you some dough: There’s a $100 cash prize to the best/worst dressed, as well as custom GiveForward Santa hats for the first 100 in the door. Cheap drinks? Ugly sweaters? Prizes? Continuing a Skybox tradition, now in its fifth year, *Creepy Hug presents its eleventh original sketch comedy revue, The 2010 Commandments: The Year in Revue.  The comedy team that formed in 2003 will help usher in new commandments as we usher out this past year.  But don’t worry, those first ten that Moses originally brought down still apply, so you only have 2,000 new commandments to remember!  Also, they should be downloadable to your iPad, or other PC tablet, as long as Moses can get decent reception on Mt. Sinai. 

The 2010 Commandments appears for a limited, four week run in Donny’s Skybox Theatre at The Second City in Piper’s Alley on Fridays at 9pm from November 26 to December 17, 2010.  Tickets are $13 for general admission, $10 for students with ID and $6 for Second City students.

In its 24th year, the annual Matzo Ball is THE place for Jewish singles on Christmas Eve.  No doubt you’ve heard about it, in fact, you’ve probably gone. The first TBOX was held in 1996, when founder Christopher Festa organized his friends together for a small holiday bar-hopping gathering. For the last two years, Vaudezilla has made a major impact on the Chicago burlesque scene with its theatrically-inspired stage shows.  Hot ‘n’ Heavy Burlesque has established itself as the go-to source for hard-rockin’, horror-themed burlesque.  This Halloween, watch the inmates take over the asylum as these two powerhouses team up to bring you a jam-packed night of tassels and terror.

We’re taking over Greenhouse Theater and turning it into THE spot for all your Halloween festivities.  Dress up in your best costume and enjoy two fully-loaded burlesque shows, a cash bar, a costume contest, and all kinds of extra spooky fun.

Hot ‘n’ Heavy kicks things off at 11pm with performances by Viva La Muerte, Kyle Greer, Faustina von Feist, Juju Minxxx, Scarlett DeVille, Miss Ellie Noise, Cruel Valentine, and Mai Atari.
