We would like to present a ‘Great Service Award’ to Delightful Pastries (@DelightPastries)

delightful_pastriesEvery once in a while, hopefully more often than not, we all have an extraordinary experience with a business. Whether it’s our first time there, or our 1,000th time, it’s great to acknowledge these great experiences.  Well, we just had a wonderful first visit to Delightful Pastries, in Old Town.  After a tweet from Scott Kleinberg popped up in our feed showing a delicious looking paczki, we were on the hunt to try one. For those that don’t know, a paczki is a Polish doughnut. Deep fried dough filled with a sweet filling. They look amazing.

We arrived at Delightful Pastries and were greeted by employees who were so helpful and accommodating that I felt obligated to let everyone that I could reach, know what a great place this is.  The staff there didn’t know that we had a blog and twitter account. All they knew was that we wanted to try a paczki! The young woman behind the counter, I unfortunately didn’t get her name, was so helpful with explaining what the pastry was, the different flavors and how I could special order some. She even offered samples, which I can never turn down! It was a great experience, the paczkis I tried were so tasty and this was an experience that I hope you all will get to have.

If you find yourself near one of their 3 locations, please stop in and check them out. You won’t be disappointed.

New Site Feature: Featured Venues. The 1st Winner Is… Wow Bao!

You may have already noticed the new section on the right side of the screen titled “Featured Restaurant”.  This is a new feature that we are starting in order to bring attention to area businesses for going above and beyond.  It won’t always be a restaurant either, it can be any type of business from the coffee shop down the street to the CTA (We’ll see if that ever happens). › Continue reading
