Famous for bringing back swing jazz in the 90’s, the Cherry Poppin’ Daddies are now trying to focus on their Ska influences.  Next Tuesday they’ll be dropping their 8th album, this time a compilation of their Ska tunes.  “Just as our swing fans did before Zoot Suit Riot, fans of our Ska songs have been suggesting that we release all of them together,” says lead singer Steve Perry (no, not that Steve Perry).

They’ll be doing there new stuff, along with some older favorites at the Kinetic Playground (1113 W. Lawrence) this Friday.  Expect to see Perry donning his new Gibson manufactured Zoot Suit SG model guitar that night, which has recently hit stores.  Not sure if you should where your Zoot Suits, but I promise that you won’t be the only one if you decide to let loose.  Show starts at 9 pm.
