The Lincoln Park Chapter of the American Association of  Zoo Keeper’s is starting a new tradition on Saturday January 16th at 12:30pm.  Actual polar bear keepers will be jumping into Lake Michigan to benefit Polar Bear International and bring awareness to polar bears.

I have to tell you, I would NEVER do this! Brrrrrr…. But, I would certainly go and watch what happens when they do!  So grab your heavy winter coat, hat, mittens, scarf and thermos of hot chocolate and head over to North Avenue beach on the 16th to watch these crazy bear keepers jump into the water in their swim suits for the inaugural Polar Plunge!

When: Saturday January 16th, 2009
